Collaborations are an effective and easy way to increase your visibility as a mom in business. When you collaborate, you essentially borrow an already established audience to share your expertise with, build your authority, and attract your dreamiest clients. However, if you want to do collaborations the right way, there are some tools you need. Keep reading to learn the six best collaboration tools for business visibility.
6 Collaboration Tools for Business Visibility
Email Service Provider: Kit (formerly Convertkit)
Regardless of the type of collaboration you participate in, you ultimately want to drive new leads to your email list. The reason why is that compared to social media, you can guarantee that your audience will see your content since it’s being sent directly to their inbox. Compared to social media marketing, email marketing has a higher return on investment. Email marketing also creates more opportunities for you to have one-on-one conversations with the people in your community.
Convertkit is an excellent option for business owners. They offer so many great features for automations and integrate with many other business tools. I’ve been with Convertkit for almost two years, and they have never disappointed me.
Course Platform for Digital Products: Podia
Bundle collaborations require you to contribute resources you normally charge for. When you participate in a bundle, you may find that some bundles require your resource to be made available on a checkout page that shows the price you normally charge for the digital product. There are lots of platforms available for this, but I have found Podia to be the most reliable (aka not glitchy) with a reasonable investment. One of my favorite features of Podia is the option to duplicate any product you’ve already created. This makes setting up your resources for bundles super easy.
Collaboration Tracker
When you participate in collaborations, you should have a system for keeping track of the collaborations you’re participating in. This will help you stay organized, especially if you participate in multiple collaborations monthly. Inside The Social Media Detox Club, I provide you with a collaboration tracker. The tracker has tabs for each type of collaboration (i.e., bundles, speaking engagements, podcast guesting, email swaps), so you can track where you’re at in the application process, and what topic you pitched yourself to speak on or resource you contributed to each bundle. There are also columns for reflecting on your overall collaboration experience and the number of leads and conversions you got. You can also create your own in Google Sheets.
Template for Email Swaps
An easy way to get started with collaborations is email swaps. This is perfect if you’re in the early stages of growing your email list or looking for a quick way to get in front of new audiences. If you’re new to email swaps, essentially, it’s you and another business owner who serves a similar audience as you sending an email to your community sharing each other’s free resources. To make your email swap even easier, you can have a plug and play template ready to share with your collaboration partner. Inside The Social Media Detox Club, there is a training on email swaps. You also get access to my email swap template to get you started.
Google Drive Folder with Your Collaboration Assets
As you start participating in collaborations, you will find that you are often asked for your short bio, social links, and headshot. You can create a Google Drive Folder with each of these assets making it easy to share with your collaborative partners. It also makes it easy for you when you are submitting collaboration applications.
Canva
For bundle collaborations, you will be required to create a graphic for your bundle contribution. Also, for any resources you create for collaborations that require a PDF download or any templates, you will need something like Canva to create them. What I love about Canva is that it allows you to create template links to easily give others access to your creations. I actually use Canva inside The Social Media Detox Club. I provide graphic templates for your bundle contributions that you can easily customize to match your brand.
