Should You Put Your Prices on Your Website?

When it comes to price transparency, how important is it for you to list your prices on your website? Are there scenarios in which you shouldn’t list your prices on your website? Keep reading to learn if you should put your prices on your website.

Think About the Customer Journey

When it comes to anything in your business, you have to think about the customer journey. What can you do to create an incredible experience for potential clients from day one? Not listing your prices can create an undesirable customer experience. The reality is that there are many people who want to know the price so they can ensure that you are within their budget. So, not listing your prices may turn away potential clients. Again, consider how you can make your offer an easy yes for potential clients.

Who is Your Ideal Client?

Consider who your ideal client is. Do they realistically have the time to get on a call with you just to learn the prices of your offers? For instance, I serve mom business owners with young children. As moms, our time and capacity are limited. It wouldn’t be to that mama’s advantage to hop on a call with me just to discover that I’m priced outside of their budget.

What About Custom Offers?

One debate around price transparency is about whether or not to list prices when all of your packages are customer-tailored to client needs because the price varies. The reality is that even for custom offers, you have base pricing. There is a price point that you will not go below for your custom packages. In this instance, you can list the starting price, which will give potential clients a general idea of the investment.

At the end of the day, you have to do what feels right for you. However, you do want to take into consideration the customer journey. You don’t want potential clients to jump through hoops to learn more about working with you. Make the process easy and seamless from the initial interaction because it sets the tone for what it’s like to work with you.
