3 Reasons Why a Potential Client Says, “I Can’t Afford Your Offer”

Financially They Are Not in a Position to Invest

The reality is that some people in your audience truly do not have the finances to invest in your services. A potential client saying, “I can’t afford your offer,” is not a reflection of you or the quality of your offer. As long as you handle the potential client’s response appropriately and keep them in your world through your free content, they will invest when they have the finances.

They Do Not Trust You

You have to earn your audience’s trust, and it’s not something that is done overnight. It takes time to earn your audience’s trust, and it’s so easy to lose their trust. Showing up consistently for your audience, being your authentic self, giving lots of value, acting with integrity, all of these things help build trust.

They Don’t See Themselves in Your Offer

If a potential client doesn’t see themselves in your offer or believe that the transformation you promise isn’t one they can achieve, they will not invest. Potential clients need to know and believe that they can achieve the results your offer promises.

Mindset Drama to Watch for When a Potential Client Says, “I Can’t Afford Your Offer”

Having a potential say, “I can’t afford your offer,” can cause feelings of rejection to occur. When this happens, you have to remember that someone saying no to your services is not a reflection of you. It’s also not a reflection of your skillset or the quality of your offer. It is so easy to tie your self-worth to whether or not you make a sale. This is why in Life in Seasons 1:1 Coaching, we focus heavily on strengthening your mindset. So when someone says, “I can’t afford your offer,” don’t take it personally.

What to Do When Someone Says, “I Can’t Afford Your Offer”

When someone says, “I can’t afford your offer,” it is your responsibility to keep them in your world. This can be done by directing them to your free long-form content and to a freebie that will get them on your email list. The reason why you want to keep this potential client in your world is so you can continue to nurture them. It also keeps you at the top of their mind so that when they are ready to invest, they know you are the best option for them.

A potential client saying, “I can’t afford your offer,” is not a bad thing. In fact, it’s the complete opposite. It’s a good thing because you know that they are a warm lead that either needs more nurturing or time to build up their income to invest. Stop tying your self-worth to whether or not you make a sale. You are amazing at what you do regardless if you make a sale or not.
