Hey, Mama! As mompreneurs, we know that content is queen; however, with so many options for creating content, which type of content will actually support us in building a profitable business from home? In today’s episode, I’m discussing the #1 type of content I believe every mompreneur needs to build a profitable business from home, which is long-form content. Whether you desire to be a podcasting mama, a YouTubing mama, or a blogging mama, today’s episode is for you. I’m breaking down four reasons why long-form content needs to be part of your content strategy in order to build a profitable business from home.
Long-form content or evergreen content is content that is considered to be a large piece of content compared to smaller content like social media. The three types of long-form content are podcasts, YouTube, and blogs. Also, this type of content is often characterized as being searchable, great for content repurposing, serving as multiple steps in your funnel, and having longevity. This type of content is a great option for mompreneurs because it simplifies content creation and supports building a profitable business from home.
Searchability refers to how easily someone can find specific information through searching or browsing online. For example, when your ideal client is searching for the answer to a question related to your niche, does your long-form content show up in the top results on Google? In order to create highly searchable content, you need to focus on SEO and keywords. If you want your long-form content to be highly searchable, you must do keyword research regardless of the type of long-form content you publish. Searchability supports building a profitable business from home because when you use the right keywords, you will attract your ideal clients. The right keywords will drive your dream clients to your long-form content.
Time is money, which means if we want to build a profitable business from home, we need to simplify as much as possible. Content repurposing supports simplifying our content creation process when we take our long-form content and repurpose it for other platforms. So, instead of reinventing the wheel for each platform we create content for, we can simplify this process by pulling the main points from our long-form content and turning it into another piece of content. When we repurpose our long-form content, we also create a cohesiveness in our messaging across platforms. Cohesiveness in messaging ensures that our community is exposed to our messaging multiple times. Multiple exposures to the same message is what leads to conversions leading to building a profitable business from home.
When we have set our funnel up in a way to generate leads, nurture, and convert on autopilot, we gain more time freedom. Your long-form content can support you in building a profitable business from home by moving your community along your funnel automatically. Because long-form content is highly searchable, it can generate new leads on autopilot when you leverage SEO. When your new leads follow your podcast or YouTube channel, the nurturing process will continue. Eventually, these new leads will become hot leads and convert into your paid offers.
Compared to social media content, long-form content has a long shelf life. As long as your content is still relevant, it will continue to generate new leads in the long run. You can generate new leads weeks, months, and years after you hit publish. Social media content typically has a shelf life of 24-48 hours. Because social media content has a short shelf life, you have to create more content to see results.
Podcasting is a great option for building a profitable business from home as a mompreneur. You aren’t required to show up on camera if you don’t want to. You can also repurpose your podcast content for blogs and YouTube (without the video). If you want to add a podcast to your long-form content, join me for the 7 Day Pod Launch Get It Done Week.
